Five on Friday

Good Morning,

I do hope everyone is well!, So here we are the end of January already, it's wet and windy here in the UK again today.

I usually don't like January but this year I have tried to embrace it more, and enjoy it for what it is, another month of the year!

So I am joining Amy at Love Made my home and sharing my Five on Friday, it's abit of a mixture this week.

I seem to have far too many WIP on the go, I have 2 pairs of socks, Spice of Life blanket, Balaclava, a summer dress to sew and a spring wreath to finish! I really need an extra 5 hours in my day just for these lovely things.

Anyway off we go...

One.

As it's been a very wet winter here, I treated myself to some Welliebobs from Joules, I really love them and they have fluffy warm lining, perfect as I don't drive so walk alot on Schools runs and to and from work.

Two.

Here is one of my WIP the balaclava for my step dad's birthday.

Three.

Here are my Daffadils in my office.   They cheer me up on grey days.

Four.

The postman delivered this lovely package of wool on Thursday, so excited it's lovely hand dyed wool Hawaii on the right and Jerusalem on the left both by Norah George, she sent it with Teabags, stitch maker and kinder bar - Happy Happy!

Five.

This is my sweet little pickle playing with her Lego Friends shopping mall and shopkins, I love the imagination children have.  She means the world to me and her dad.

Well I have shared by Five with you, I hope you like them.
Thanks so much for all the lovely comments I have had over the last couple of weeks, it means so much.
Have a nice weekend

Tuesday Thoughts...

Good Morning,

I thought I would share with you, somethings about me today, I am Mum and Wife, I have a little pickle who will be 10 this year, can't believe how the time as gone, it still feels like she was 1 a minute ago.

My hubbie travels to London everyday for work, for which we are grateful for as I know this is very tiring for him.

So this leaves me being the homemaker as well as working.  I love our home, it's a family place filled with love.

So my day starts at about 6.30am, doing lunches and organising for the day ahead, While I potter around my kitchen I enjoy classical music coming out of my little green radio..

Once hubbie has gone on his way..I enjoy a lovely coffee from my machine, I have to start the day with Tea you see, so by about 7.15, I am in need of a coffee fix...
I just love these mugs..
So we then go about our day - school run, Choir for pickle, work for me, however I do love my job and I work in really old building, it was built around 1600s, it's been a post office, workhouse, photo frame shop, coffee shops, home and now Council building.

This is the view from my office window!

Than back home again to start with the evening routine, Dinner making, cleaning, washing, ironing and maybe a sit down inbetween for some knitting...but usually not till later.
This is a neckwarmer I finished for myself last week. It's moss stitch with WI double knit yarn.

Something else about me - I love flowers, I have to have them in the house, at the moment it's Tulips or Daffadils..but this will change with the seasons.

We have a cat called Mittens who is completely mad!

In the last picture she wanted to come to school/work with us!

So that's just a little post about me, hope you didn't mind me sharing with you!
Have a great day!

Five on Friday!

Good Morning,

I thought I would share with you this week, my Five favourite books at the moment!,  I am alway collecting cook books, knitting books, crochet books and sewing books ( bit of a an obessions).

So I am joining  and sharing my Five on Friday with you all.

Hope that you are all keeping well in your part of the world, been a chilly one this week, see my previous posts for frosty photos.

My vertigo is still hanging around but not as bad as last weekend thankfully.

Anyway here we go....

One.

Downton Abbey Cookbook

This is my newest purchase, I just love the series and am looking forward to getting the time to try out some of these recipes.

Two.
Lisa Faulkner

I could decide which one of the three is my favourite, I think the first one, as this is the one I go to more often. Little pickle loves the Krisipie Chicken and the Summer cake is lovely.

Three.

Crochet

This book was hopeful when learning to crochet, it shows you all the stitches to get started and lots of pictures to help you along the way, I still use it now as a go to book when I am unsure.

Four.

Modern Vintage Gifts

This is a book released recently by another blogger Helen Philipps, the pictures and instructions are so great, I am in the process of sewing the colourful birds.

Five.

Cath Kidston Sewing Book,

I have made a few things from this book, including the folding bag that came with the book, I really like fabric she uses.

Well that's it for me, off to lunch with the Mum's now.
Enjoy your weekend and thanks as always for stopping by my blog.

Frosty Wednesday!

Good Afternoon,

Well it's been cold the last couple of days, this morning as I walk on school run, there was lots of Frosty things to see.  I spend a lot of time walking as I don't drive, which I have to say I enjoy except when it's raining!, however I do notice the difference when it's school holidays as I don't walk as much.

I love the way the light hits the frost this time of year.

Here are some photos from my morning school run!
This is in the town where I live

This the recreation ground I just love the pink sunlight on the grass

Walking past the pond this morning was lovely the middle bit is unfrozen so the ducks are still happy.

The frozen leaves.

Here is something bright to end the post, some lovely tulips from hubbie.

Hope you have a lovely day and stay warm!
